Coffee and Capes started as a dream between my husband and I.

Long before we were married we’d often discuss our life goals and we always hoped to build a community where folks could share their passions. Matt’s passion is modern comics, particularly in trade-paperback form. Mine has always been coffee.

While living in State College PA and working at a cute cafe called “The Naked Egg” Matthew and I would explore the downtown and we discovered shops like”The Comic Swap” and “Websters”. These community spaces are ultimately what inspired combining our passions into one store where we could bring together our own community here in Wooster.

When we moved back to Wayne County in 2017 we became part of the hospitality and food service industries in Wooster. You may recognize me (Hi, I’m Venessa.) from coffee shops and restaurants that I’ve served in, and you’ve likely eaten at establishments where Matt has been in the kitchen serving up everything from burgers to Thai Spaghetti.

We love our friends and neighbors here in Northeast Ohio and we are so excited to share this part of ourselves with all of you!
